Major drainage works commenced in June at the time of The All England Club Tennis championships on Holes 1, 3, 4, 14, 15, 16, 17 & 18. Some 6,500 linear metres of primary drainage pipework was installed, creating a network of pipes at 5 metre spacing’s within each fairway. The system is complimented by secondary drainage, utilising gravel bands installed at 1 metre spacing’s. Working on the site alongside the championships provided quite a challenge as parts of the course are used for parking, but working with the golf and tennis club along with the AA who provide assistance staff, all went as smoothly as could be expected.
